Beautifully painted depiction of the handsome young captain holding his wood barrel spyglass. In the background is a port view of an American ship sailing around a lighthouse that sits on a point of land. Sailing in the background is a pilot schooner. Condition lined and very good. Another portrait done by the same artist sold in December, 1981 in Part 1 of the Barbara Johnson Collection(lot 48).
