PORT VIEW OF THE AMERICAN SHIP MARCELLUS OFF LIVERPOOL. Oil on canvas. 26" x 36" plus a very fine, 4" wide, gilt frame.  Signed lower right "Wm York Lpool/Sep 1861". The Marcellus was built at Medford, MA in 1848. Her homeport was Boston, MA. Condition lined and excellent. Has old Kennedy Galleries labels affixed to the back of the stretcher. Has hand lettered gilt information tablet on the frame.
