FABULOUS CARVED 19TH CENTURY YACHT TILLER ARM made from a single piece of mahogany. 65" long. Entire shaft meticulously carved in elaborate rope motifs that includes three turk's head knots and a massive, 4" diameter, crown knot at the tip. Fitted with a 5" long brass sleeve where hand is positioned when steering. End that attaches to the rudder decorated on top with a large stylized dolphin carving. Condition about perfect retaining its original varnish finish. Everything with nice age color. Circa 1860. A most impressive piece of maritime carving executed by a master carver.
