*134. RELIC WALKING STICK FROM FLAGSHIP LAWRENCE. Tapered wood shaft with nicely carved
ivory handle. Overall length 31 1/2". Where handle and shaft are joined there
is an engraved silver band with inscription "Wood taken from/Flag Ship
Lawrence/Patrick Smith from J.W. Allen". Overall condition good. Nice item
made from famous War of 1812 flagship of Oliver H. Perry.

*135. "WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY AND THEY ARE OURS" is part of
the inscription on the silver handle of this swagger stick. Floral decorated
knob also beautifully engraved "Wood From Flag Ship Lawrence Com
Perry's Victory on Lake Erie Sept 10th 1813". Top also with presentation
inscription that is difficult to fully read. Tapered wood shaft. Looks like a small cane measuring 25 1/2"l.
Condition very good. Nice fancy relic made from from Perry's famous War of 1812 ship.

*136. UNIQUE CONSTITUTION RELIC. This is not one of the pieces made to sell in order to generate
funds for the 1927 restoration of "Old Ironsides". Made using a massive piece of copper that is 8 1/2"l. x 1
1/2" diameter. Individually die stamped lettering on the top "U.S. FRIGATE
CONSTITUTION/KEELSON BOLT/1797/1927". The bolt is let into a heavy
block of wood that measures 12"l. x 2 5/8"w. x 2 1/4" thick. In carved out
area where bolts neatly rests is inscription "From C.S. Adams to R.M.
Pingree/Mar 1930/Section of Keel Shoe/Frigate Constitution/Navy Yard
Boston/Restoration 1927-1930". Condition excellent. Charles S. Adams
was the supervising draftsman for the 1927 restoration of U.S.S. Constitution. Exact piece illustrated page
116 in Klamkin's book "Marine Antiques".

*137. CANNON MADE FROM WOOD SALVAGED FROM CONSTITUTION. Nice
large size with turned wood, naval style, barrel that measures 10" long. Mounted
on wood naval carriage with four wood wheels. Has metal plaque attached with
inscription "U.S. FRIGATE CONSTITUTION". Overall condition very good. Has
wedge piece for adjusting height of barrel. Made during the 1927 restoration of
"Old Ironsides". First time I've had this large size Constitution relic.

*138. CONSTITUTION RELIC made during the 1927 restoration. Probably intended for use as a paper-
weight. Base is 3/4" thick oak that measures 2 1/2"w. x 5"l. Mounted on the top
is a nicely turned wood cannon barrel and a bronze plaque with raised lettering
that reads "This Material Was Taken From/The Original Hull Of The/U.S. Frigate
Constitution/ Keel Laid 1794 Rebuilding 1927". Attached to each of the four top
corners of base are triangular shaped pieces of copper. Condition very good.

*139. CONSTITUTION RELIC nearly identical to previous example except mounted on a
larger wood base that measures 5" x 5". Has the same 4" long turned wood cannon barrel
as well as same bronze plaque and copper corners. Condition good. From the 1927
rebuilding of "Old Ironsides".

*140. NICELY CRAFTED WOOD BOX MADE FROM TIMBER AND METAL SALVAGED
DURING THE 1927 REBUILDING OF "OLD IRONSIDES". 7 1/4"l. x 4"w. x 2 1/2" high.
Removable lid with beveled edges and large bronze disc having Constitution
under sail and inscription "OLD IRONSIDES/Launched 1797/1804 Tripoli/1812
Guerriere Java/1815 Cyane Levant/U.S. Frigate Constitution". Attached to front
of box is bronze plaque with raised letter inscription "This Material Was Taken
From/The Original Hull Of The/U.S. Frigate Constitution/Keel Laid 1794
Rebuilding 1927". Also fitted with copper on four corners of lid and box.
Condition complete and excellent.
