*192. POLYCHROME SCRIMSHAW TOOTH with port view of an American ship. Below the
bluish green water is a leaf design and American shield. Length 7 3/8" x 2 5/8" wide. I had
another smaller tooth by this artist in my 1998 catalog #31, item 24. Also see page 25 in
"Nautical Antiques" by Robert Ball for an example by this scrimshander. Condition excellent.

case with hinged bezel. Engraved on lower section of bezel with pres-
entation "To The DIANE/from/S.M. and H.J.S./class 76/1902". 6" diam-
eter silvered face with roman numerals and company name "Chelsea
Clock Co.,/Boston". Blued steel hour, minute, second and fast/slow
hands. Overall diameter 7 1/4". Condition very good noting a small
section of plating gone near vessel name. Serial # 3981. Was sold to
Harris & Schafer, Washington DC on 5/31/1900.

two pieces of whale ivory that are separated by dark wood discs. Knob with multi-sided or faceted style of

*195. SCRIMSHAW WALKING STICK with elaborate carved whalebone shaft. Tapered and rounded whale
ivory knob that is inset on top with a baleen disc and eight small ebony dots. Has another whale ivory
section and two ebony spacers where handle and shaft join together. Beautifully carved shaft done in varying
diamond, knurl, spiral and flute motifs. Bottom tip is a 3 3/4" long section of whale ivory that joins shaft
with ebony spacer. Overall length 33 1/4". Nice condition. A quality scrimshaw cane. Circa 1850.

*196. ELABORATELY CARVED COCONUT SHELL AND STAND. Excellent quality, 19th
century workmanship over entire surface that includes two American Eagles that are
entirely surrounded by floral, leaf and border motifs. 4 1/2" tall x max diameter 3 1/2". Has
coconut shell stand that is nicely shaped and carved having four legs decorated with floral
motifs. Overall height on stand 5 1/2". Condition excellent.

*197. PRISONER-OF-WAR BONE GAMES BOX. Circa 1790.
Sliding, dome-top lid that is open carved and drilled for score
keeping. Sliding inner lid with traces of a painting depicting a
ship and female. Nicely fashioned legs. Carved side and end
mouldings. Contains about a full set of bone dominoes and a
pair of bone dice. Condition overall good noting the worn lid painting and a sec-
tion of bone missing on one end of sliding top lid. It can easily be restored
because opposite end complete and can be used as a pattern.

bordered by a fabulous foliate arch that has flowers polychrome colored red. Her dress also
